Vegan in Bangkok
Thoughts of Bangkok conjure up many images, and I’d happily bet that great vegan food isn’t one of them! Surprisingly, Bangkok is already a few steps ahead with some great plant-based cafes and restaurants serving up some of the most creative menus I’ve seen.
Being vegan in Thailand can be challenging and often results in listing off what vegan means, and then of course there's that sneaky fish sauce worming it’s way into lots of dishes. But there luckily some restaurants dedicated to veganism that take all of the hassle away, and help to happily feed even your meatiest of meat-eating friends!
Broccoli Revolution
Close to Thonglor BTS, Brocoli Revolution serves up a vegan menu with a focus on using the freshest ingredients around. The high ceilings let in an abundance of light, perfect for the jungle of ferns hanging from the ceiling. Seating areas on different levels and the funky vibe make for a perfect spot to catch up with friends.
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the menu is so varied that it’s easy to end up here a few times a day.
They have a wide range of cold-pressed juices numbered from 1 to 18 based on different recipes as well as organic wines and beers.
Starting life as a dessert cafe, these guys have now expanded with Veganerie Concept, a vegan diner with an all-day menu going far beyond salads.
Their baked pizza roti was so good that I have it every time I go. The breakfast menu is packed full of options from pancakes to granola and scrambled tofu. There’s a never ending selection of smoothies and of course some of their sweet treats from the other bakery branches.
And they have some fun Instagram-worthy decor which is worth the visit in itself!
The options at this take-away bakery will make anyone want to go vegan. Cheesecakes, fudgecakes, velvet cakes, cupcakes, cookies…it’s all there and I was drooling! They also sell packets of their delicious vegan granola to enjoy at home.
This is the perfect spot for a vegan birthday cake if you can decide on just one.
